Project overview
Assignment Description
Background
The government has decided that PTS (Post and Telecom Authority) shall merge with Digg (Agency for Digital Government) to form the Agency for Digitalization from January 1, 2027. Digg's operations will be transferred to PTS, and Digg will be dissolved as an agency. PTS will change its name but retain the same organization number and agency number.
PTS, together with Digg, has initiated a Transformation Program to prepare for and implement the merger.
A name change entails significant work in several areas, both within operations and in common operational areas such as archives/registry, communication, graphic profile, and IT. A preliminary study has been conducted from a technical perspective, describing the consequences in the IT environment and proposing actions. The preliminary study also makes certain observations regarding, among other things, legal requirements and operational needs.
The name change from PTS/Digg to the Agency for Digitalization will occur gradually and is expected to take several years.
To continue the work after the preliminary study, further investigation is needed, but primarily project management to plan, inventory operational needs, develop proposals for prioritizing actions, and support and coordinate the implementation of actions in dialogue with, among others, technical operations managers, product owners/operations, and clients.
Overall Description
Digg currently rents IT infrastructure services from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (FK), which includes network, communication, IT workplace, computers, data center capacity, printers, meeting room technology, and directory services (AD). Some of these services will remain with FK, while PTS solutions will be used for others. For the latter, access solutions and migration plans will be developed. A phased plan has been created, with the first phase extending to January 1, 2027. Phases 2 and 3 are planned for 2027. The work is done in collaboration between PTS, Digg, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
Both Digg and PTS have a large number of existing e-services with external users: citizens, companies, municipalities, regions, and other public actors. Some of these services are operated by external suppliers.
Purpose
The purpose of the assignment is to develop a project plan for the name change, anchor it with stakeholders in the operations, external suppliers, and the agency's management group. - Together with technical operations managers, etc., identify where and how the agency's current name appears (e.g., in system names, domain names, certificates, email addresses, APIs, logos, and codebases), clarify requirements, and coordinate operational needs.
