Job Title: QA Engineer - Performance & Load Testing
Project details
New York, NY (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Long Term Contract, ongoing. At least 1 year. Possible to extend or convert.
Our client is a global financial services enterprise powering millions of daily consumer transactions. They are currently expanding their premium global dining division to support a major platform merger, requiring highly scalable, real-time infrastructure to handle high-volume traffic.
They are looking for a Performance & Load Testing QA Engineer for a 100% hands-on, individual contributor role. You will ensure system stability during the integration of two major reservation platforms by designing complex load-test scenarios, analyzing latency percentiles, and tracking bottlenecks across APIs and event-driven architecture.
This is a long-term, ongoing contract offering a flexible pay rate based on your expertise. You will work on a hybrid schedule, joining the team in the New York City office 2 to 3 days a week. If you are ready to drive performance for a premier global platform, apply today to get started.
- MUST HAVE: Extensive hands-on experience with named load-testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust).
- Strong background in testing HTTP/API and event/WebSocket traffic.
- Proven ability to perform deep performance analysis (latency percentiles, error rates, throughput).
- Demonstrated evidence of tracing bottlenecks and building scale-scenarios.
- Commitment to working entirely as a hands-on individual contributor.
- Design and execute comprehensive load and performance test scenarios.
- Analyze complex system metrics to identify throughput limits and latency percentiles.
- Trace and isolate infrastructure and application bottlenecks.
- Partner with engineering teams to optimize performance for a large-scale platform merger.
- Start: flexible
- Remote: hybrid
- Location: New York, New York, United States, US
- Rate: 50-80 EUR/h
