Jobbeschreibung
Develop and integrate software for robotics and drone systems, focusing on computer vision and data analysis for security applications. The role involves transitioning R&D to production within a DevOps team.
Project overview
The task package is:
Background
Making the Netherlands safer and keeping it safe. That is where you want to contribute. You see the possibilities of new IT technology to achieve this goal. You also understand that new technology should not come at any cost. The privacy of innocent citizens must of course be guaranteed, and the use of AI must fit within ethical and legal frameworks. The goal of your new team is to deploy capacity more effectively and efficiently in monitoring and security through the application of state-of-the-art computer vision solutions.
Your work will ensure that deviant patterns can be detected faster and better to combat undermining crime. You will join a running team that has developed various computer vision applications. This team is in transition from R&D to production, and you are a key figure in this.
Your team falls under the DevOps department of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. DevOps falls organizationally under the Directorate Information & Technology, within cluster IV of the CKMar staff. Within DevOps, work is being done on various applications in the field of AI (computer vision and language models), robotics, and 3D printing.

Requirements eCF profile: Developer
Reference Area: B.01 Application Development
This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the associated level of responsibility. The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected of the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate in their CV that they possess these competencies. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:
CVs in which the required eCF competencies are not demonstrably present cannot be fully assessed for suitability.
Candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience with the chosen eCF profile similar role.
Generic description of competence area and level
Interprets the application design to develop a suitable application in accordance with customer needs. Adapts existing solutions by, for example, porting an application to another operating system. Codes, debugs, tests, and documents, and communicates product development stages. Selects suitable technical options for development, such as reusing, improving, or reconfiguring existing components. Optimizes efficiency, costs, and quality. Validates results with user representatives, integrates, and commissions the overall solution.
Summary of task and mission
Designs and/or codes to meet solution specifications. Ensures the building and implementation of ICT applications. Contributes to a low-level design. Writes code to ensure optimal efficiency, functionality, and user experience.
