SAP IS-U Billing Consultant – Technical/Functional

Help build the future of SAP IS-U Billing and determine the technical direction within an innovative S/4HANA environment.

The Position

For a leading organization within the Dutch energy sector, we are looking for an experienced SAP IS-U Billing Consultant with a strong functional and technical background.

In this role, you will be responsible for the further development, optimization, and future-proofing of the SAP landscape around IS-U Billing. You will operate at the intersection of business, SAP functionality, technology, and architecture and will be an important content sparring partner for colleagues and stakeholders within the SAP domain.

We are looking for someone who looks beyond traditional Billing functionalities. Experience with MDT (Master Data) and SAP S/4HANA is a strong plus. Furthermore, we find it important that you are curious about new SAP functionalities and technologies and can quickly master them.

You will be seen as a content expert and will provide direction for complex technical and functional issues. You will identify potential bottlenecks early, break down complex problems into concrete solution directions, and ensure that solutions are actually realized.

What You Bring

• Designing, improving, and managing SAP IS-U Billing processes and functionalities.
• Acting as a content point of contact for complex functional and technical issues within the Billing domain.
• Analyzing existing processes, interfaces, and functionalities and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Advising on technical solutions, architecture, and configuration within SAP.
• Anticipating technical risks and dependencies at product and project level.
• Translating complex business issues into concrete and future-proof SAP solutions.
• Collaborating with SAP consultants, developers, architects, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Contributing to developments around SAP S/4HANA and new SAP functionalities.
• Investigating and applying possibilities that go beyond traditional IS-U Billing functionality.
• Monitoring the coherence between different SAP components and processes.
• Documenting solutions, architectural choices, and technical and functional guidelines.
• Sharing knowledge, guiding colleagues, and contributing to an environment where teams learn from each other.
• Participating in discussions about the technical roadmap and improvement initiatives for the coming 6 to 12 months.

Requirements

• Several years of experience with SAP IS-U, with a strong focus on Billing.
• A strong functional SAP foundation, preferably supplemented with technical knowledge.
• Experience with MDT / Master Data is a strong plus.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and new technical and functional features is desired.
• Experience within the energy, utilities, or comparable sector is a plus.
• You are analytically strong and can quickly structure complex issues.
• You are solution-oriented and can translate complex problems into concrete solutions.
• You take ownership and ensure that solutions are actually realized.
• You are a strong content partner for business, IT, architecture, and other stakeholders.
• You can understand technical issues at the product level and make well-founded design and architectural decisions.
• You are able to provide direction at project and product level and exert influence within the domain.
• You possess strong communication skills and can clearly explain complex matters.
• You are able to look ahead and determine technical priorities for the coming 6 to 12 months.
• You enjoy guiding colleagues in terms of content, sharing knowledge, and helping others improve.
• You have a proactive attitude and are willing to quickly master new SAP functionalities and technologies.
• You are available full-time.
• You are willing to work on-site on Mondays and Wednesdays.
