BACKGROUND & MANDATE

For our end client in the Swiss banking sector we are looking for three Senior Application Developers for the Investments & Pensions portfolio.

The client is expanding its portfolio in the area of investments and pensions. The teams develop and operate their services themselves - development and operations are in the same hands following the DevOps approach. They are embedded in a large Agile Release Train that works according to SAFe at programme level and Scrum at team level.

Three identical positions at 100% each are being filled. The role independently implements business requirements on the prescribed technology stack

Two points shape the daily work more than the technology stack: the willingness to share operational duties in the DevOps model is part of the role and is not negotiable. And the environment is characterised by many technical and organisational dependencies - anyone who prefers to work in isolation on a self-contained module will not be happy here.

MAIN TASKS

Independently implement business requirements on the prescribed technology stack: Java Spring backend, Angular frontend, Azure cloud.

Develop and further develop the services for the investments and pensions area within your own team.

Carry out clarifications with the business unit and the commissioning parties as well as with the application owners.

Take on operational duties for the services you develop yourself, following the DevOps approach.

Design and implement the persistence layer and data access with Hibernate and JPA.

Make frontend adjustments with Angular and TypeScript in coordination with the backend.

Take part in the agile ceremonies at team and programme level.

Align dependencies with the other teams of the Agile Release Train.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Java: very good knowledge of Java and the common Java development tools.

Professional experience: at least five years as a software developer in the Java environment; senior level with five to eight years.

Frameworks: Spring Boot as well as Hibernate and JPA in productive use.

Frontend: Angular and TypeScript - the focus remains on the backend, but with a good understanding of frontend development.

DevOps readiness (client requirement): willingness to take on operational duties for your own services - development and operations are in the same hands.

Methodology: experience with agile development methods; here SAFe at programme level and Scrum within the team.

Education: a solid education in computer science.

Dependencies: enjoyment of working in an environment with many technical and organisational dependencies.

Personality: quick comprehension, strong analytical thinking and an open, communicative manner as a team player.

Domain interest: interest in topics around investments and pensions - the business unit is a discussion partner, not just a client.

Languages: German C2 (near native) and English B2 (FCE).

NICE TO HAVE (relevant for evaluation)

Experience in the investment or pension business of a bank or insurance company.

Practical experience with Azure services in application operations and in CI/CD pipelines.

Experience in large Agile Release Trains with several interdependent teams.

IMPORTANT

Remote policy: 100% on site at the client, 0% home office, depending on the project phase.

Extracts from the debt enforcement register and the criminal record are required (if resident in Germany, a SCHUFA report and a police clearance certificate are required).

Additional special rule on remote work: it is permitted only within Switzerland due to internal regulations and banking secrecy.

Swiss residence or a valid residence permit must be in place at the time the offer is submitted.

ZEK credit report required.
