Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior Elastic Engineer. You will participate in the realization of a project that provides for the expansion and renewal of existing platforms on which Elastic runs, among other things. Your tasks will consist of independently (automated) installing systems and configuring them according to the specified requirements. You will use the latest techniques used in the market for application deployment & automation, including Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

Furthermore, you will transfer new systems to the operations organization and advise the operations organization on running Elastic applications. You will play an important role in further documenting and carefully transferring the knowledge of platform management to the managing party. You will be proactive in advising the operations organization on optimizing new and existing platforms in terms of technology, setup, and/or data architecture. You will also participate in optimizing both automation and monitoring of these clusters.

Background

Project-based expansion and renewal of a monitoring platform and ensuring that this, including knowledge transfer, is properly managed by the receiving party.

Generic Description Competence Area and Levels

Guarantees the delivery of services in accordance with established Service Level Agreements. Takes proactive action to ensure stable and secure applications and ICT infrastructure to prevent potential service disruptions, paying attention to capacity planning and information security. Updates the operational document library and logs all service incidents. Maintenance of monitoring and management tools (e.g., Scripts, procedures). Maintains IT services. Takes proactive measures.

Summary of Task and Mission

Maintains and repairs hardware, software, and service applications. Effectively maintains customer hardware/software. Responsible for delivering timely and effective repairs to ensure optimal system performance and superior customer satisfaction.

This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the corresponding level of responsibility. The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate in their CV that they possess these competencies. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:

Candidate has at least 2 years of demonstrable work experience with the chosen eCF profile similar role.

Wishes

Candidate preferably has demonstrable work experience within the Ministry of Defence.

Candidate preferably has at least 4 years of experience with Elastic Search (optional)

Candidate preferably has at least 4 years of experience with Logstash and messaging platforms (Apache Kafka)

Candidate preferably has the following active certifications: Elasticsearch Engineering, Observability Engineering, Data Analyst, and Security Analyst.

Candidate preferably has demonstrable work experience with Linux

Candidate preferably has demonstrable work experience with Storage (optional)

Candidate preferably has demonstrable work experience with Open Source

Candidate preferably has more than demonstrable work experience with the requested role within the eCF profile and assignment description.
