Senior Eyewear Designer (Freelance) – Licensed Fashion Eyewear

Context

Our client is an international player in fashion eyewear, designing and developing optical and sunglass collections under license for renowned brands, distributed worldwide. They are looking for a freelance Senior Eyewear Designer to ensure the continuity of their collections for 12 months, working closely with the Brand and Product Development teams (based in Hong Kong).

Prototypes & Approvals

• Monitoring fashion/design trends and innovations in the eyewear market
• Competitive analysis (brands and accessories)
• Creation of mood boards at a brand presentation level
• Design of optical and sunglass frames faithful to the DNA of each brand
• Development of color briefs and palettes per collection
• Sketches and 3D representation where relevant
• Briefing of design packs and colors to Product Developers in Hong Kong
• Verification of technical drawings before validation by the Design Director
• Adherence to tight schedules (Smartsheet) and key milestones
• Proposal of process improvements
• Follow-up on design/color/material questions with Hong Kong
• Chasing and tracking of prototypes and color samples
• Preparation of brand validation meetings (documents and drawings ready)
• Product presentations to brands and sales teams
