For team DPLOY, we are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who independently develops high-quality solutions within jointly made design decisions and architectural guidelines. You will also play an important role in onboarding development teams onto Autobahn — our cloud orchestration and CI/CD platform. Your role within the energy transition The energy transition requires reliable, secure, and scalable digital services. Within team DPLOY, you will help build Autobahn: the platform that enables development teams to build and deploy software faster, more consistently, and according to our standards.

As a senior engineer, you bring a lot of technical knowledge and practical experience. You will work independently on complex platform functionality based on design decisions that we make together and within the applicable architectural guidelines. An important part of your work is onboarding new development teams. You will delve into their application and platform architecture, map out with the team what is needed for the transition to Autobahn, and help them work towards Alliander's standards during onboarding. You will work closely with the Technical Solution Lead and other team members.

Good coordination, open communication, and solving technical issues together are essential to perform the work well and be successful within team DPLOY. What will you do?

• Independently develop and manage Autobahn within jointly made design decisions and applicable architectural guidelines
• Realize scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions on AWS and Kubernetes
• Further develop CI/CD workflows in Github Actions, Typescript, and Bash
• Automate infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes with AWS CDK, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Onboard new development teams onto Autobahn and provide technical guidance during the entire onboarding process
• Conduct deep dives into the application, cloud, and deployment architecture of teams to identify dependencies, risks, and necessary adjustments
• Help development teams align their solutions and working methods with Alliander's architecture, security, and engineering standards
• Analyze and resolve complex technical bottlenecks related to integration, performance, reliability, and security
• Share knowledge with colleagues and development teams and contribute to code quality and engineering best practices
• Translate experiences from onboardings into concrete improvements of the platform, documentation, and onboarding process Working at Alliander You will end up in Technical Platforms, in the Chapter Technical Platform Services. We work hybrid, with a fixed office day on Tuesdays in Arnhem. In this senior role, you will have plenty of room to develop independently, contribute technical depth, and successfully guide development teams in their transition to Autobahn. You can independently realize complex functionality within agreed frameworks and easily switch between platform development and intensive collaboration with development teams. At the same time, you are a real team player: you actively coordinate with the Technical Solution Lead and your team members, share insights, and make choices about execution together. That collaboration is indispensable for a successful contribution to team DPLOY.
• HBO or WO work and thinking level
• Ample, demonstrable experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a similar role
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• In-depth experience with Kubernetes, including management, troubleshooting, security, and scalability
• Experience with Docker and building and managing secure container images
• Ample experience with GitHub Actions and developing reusable CI/CD workflows
• Experience with TypeScript and Bash for automation and platform development
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK and Helm)
• You can translate jointly made design decisions and architectural guidelines into working, maintainable solutions
• You can quickly delve into the architecture and technical context of development teams and clearly analyze complex issues
• You have strong communication skills and can constructively guide teams towards organization-wide standards
• Experience onboarding or migrating development teams to a platform is a plus
• Experience with Java and/or Python is a plus
• You actively share knowledge with colleagues and development teams
• You speak Dutch and English
