What will you do

Team Advice | WO | Gorinchem | 32-36 hours

Lead complex projects in the growing city of Gorinchem to results and make a visible difference.

As a senior project manager for area development, you will work on large, complex, and strategic projects that contribute to the future of Gorinchem. You will take charge of projects that impact the city, such as area developments, business parks, mobility issues, and major spatial initiatives. Examples include the development of the Groote Haar business park and the Concordiabrug.

You are responsible for the entire project process: from initiative and planning to decision-making and execution. You will bring structure to complex issues, monitor progress, quality, and feasibility, and ensure connection between all involved parties.

As an experienced project manager, you will work independently on projects and know when to accelerate, connect, or adjust. You will form and guide multidisciplinary project teams and ensure that different interests converge into concrete results. You will also contribute to the further professionalization of project-based work within the organization.

You are a strong discussion partner for management, the organization, and external partners. You move easily in a political-administrative environment and know how to bring different interests together. You will liaise with the council and executive board, residents, developers, Rijkswaterstaat, the water board, and interest groups, ensuring support and trust.

With your experience and overview, you will steer complex projects towards results. You take responsibility, make choices, and maintain course, even when interests diverge or circumstances change. You know how to enthuse project teams and ensure that everyone contributes their expertise to the common goal.

You are mindful of the societal impact of your work and feel involved in the development of Gorinchem. You see not only the substantive challenge of projects but also their significance for residents, entrepreneurs, and the future of the city.

You will be working within Team Advice, which includes the Project Bureau. Together with a core group of six experienced project professionals and a flexible pool of specialists, you will work on diverse, complex projects that contribute to the city's development. We jointly strengthen project-based work within the organization and ensure that ambitions are translated into concrete results.

The following conditions apply to this assignment:

• A completed academic education and WO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
• Extensive experience as a project manager in complex spatial or societal projects.
• Experience with area development, administrative decision-making, and working in a political-administrative context.
• Experience with participation and organizing dialogue with residents and stakeholders.
• Ability to functionally manage multidisciplinary teams and connect different expertise.
• Strong communication and networking skills and the ability to advise at a strategic level.
• A results-oriented and independent way of working, maintaining an overview in complex situations.
• Flexible working hours and the possibility of hybrid working.
• A well-accessible workplace: the city hall is located directly next to the station, and you can reach the A27 by car within a few minutes.

• The personal motivation must demonstrate through substantiation that the candidate possesses the required competencies.
• The candidate possesses a proof of identity (a passport or identity card), which is valid at intake and on the start date of the candidate's contract and can be presented for inspection.
• The VNG Model General Procurement Conditions for supplies and services apply to this assignment.
• The take-over period for flexible workers on a secondment basis is 1,404 hours.
• The take-over period for flexible workers on a temporary employment basis is 936 hours.
• Indexation does not apply.
• If the supplier offers a freelancer, the agreement will be concluded exclusively between Haert and the respective freelancer. Any agreements regarding kickback fees will be agreed upon exclusively between the supplier and the freelancer and fall outside the responsibility of Haert.
• A valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is mandatory for this placement. The costs for this are borne by the supplier and must be included in the rate. The candidate may only start once the VOG has been received.
• Upon termination of an assignment by the client, the following notice periods apply:
• Up to 8 weeks worked: notice period of 1 working week.
• Between 8 and 26 weeks worked: notice period of 3 working weeks.
• Longer than 26 weeks worked: notice period of 1 month.
• The rate depends on the knowledge and skills of the candidate.
• A candidate can only start after signing our cooperation agreement and the client-specific agreement of this client.
• With sufficient applications, we will close the assignment earlier than the indicated deadline in the portal. Therefore, submit a suitable candidate as soon as possible.
