Assignment Description

Manage and maintain SAP systems within a secure Defense environment, ensuring optimal stability and availability of the SAP landscapes.

> Install, configure, and keep SAP environments up-to-date, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and SAP HANA databases, in accordance with current (security) guidelines.

> Execute and control backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes to ensure the continuity of critical business operations.

> Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve disruptions to prevent or minimize downtime.

> Collaborate with internal and external (chain) partners within Defense to resolve incidents and structural problems quickly and effectively.

Background of Assignment

Within Defense, you will work on the SAP systems that are crucial for supporting military operations and business operations. As an SAP System Administrator (SAP Basis), you are responsible for the management and continuity of complex SAP landscapes within a highly secure environment. You will join a professional team where reliability, security, and collaboration are central. Your work directly contributes to the deployability of Defense.

This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the associated level of responsibility. The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate in their CV that they possess these competencies. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system-related problems
• Install and upgrade software

• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience as an SAP Basis Consultant / SAP System Administrator within a complex SAP environment, preferably within a large-scale government organization.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with management, maintenance, and monitoring of SAP landscapes, including production environments with high availability requirements.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable practical knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and SAP HANA databases.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with installations, upgrades, patches, migrations, and lifecycle management of SAP systems.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with Linux/Unix administration within SAP platforms and knowledge of underlying infrastructure components.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis within SAP environments.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes and performing periodic tests on them.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with SAP security, authorizations, user management, and information security guidelines.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience working according to ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Candidate preferably has at least 3 years of demonstrable experience with Agile/SAFe working and using tooling such as JIRA.
• Candidate preferably has strong communication skills and experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and chain organizations.
• Candidate preferably has a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in IT, Informatics, or equivalent.
• Candidate preferably has SAP Basis certification(s)
