Overview of the Role A leading entertainment and consumer products technology organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the development, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications supporting global Licensing & Publishing operations. This role is heavily focused on Java and MongoDB and will play a key role in maintaining critical business systems, supporting a major MongoDB upgrade initiative, and delivering new functionality across a complex enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on full stack engineer with strong Java development experience, deep MongoDB expertise, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. This person should be comfortable working across the software development lifecycle, from requirements and development through production support, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Candidates who have worked in large-scale enterprise environments and enjoy balancing feature development with modernization efforts will be particularly successful. The Basics

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (up to 4 days onsite per week)
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week Top 3 Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of software development experience with Java and enterprise application development
• Strong experience with MongoDB, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and full stack software development
• Experience serving as a technical lead or senior contributor on software development projects Other Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong object-oriented programming and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Ehcache, and enterprise Java applications
• Experience supporting MongoDB upgrades, migrations, or modernization efforts
• Experience with SQL Server, relational databases, and data integration
• Familiarity with WebSphere application environments
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, JSON, and modern web technologies
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source code versioning tools
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise B2B systems preferred
• Familiarity with localization and accessibility standards is a plus Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications built on Java, MongoDB, Spring Framework, SQL Server, and related technologies
• Support a major MongoDB upgrade initiative, including application updates, driver upgrades, compatibility testing, and deployment activities
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production support issues with a focus on rapid response and minimal business impact
• Reverse engineer existing applications and code bases to diagnose defects and implement enhancements
• Design, develop, test, and deploy new software features that support evolving business requirements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with product, engineering, UX, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions
• Create technical specifications, implementation documentation, and system design materials
• Prepare code merge requests, database updates, and deployment packages
• Conduct code reviews and promote software engineering best practices
• Develop and execute unit tests and support QA testing activities
• Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
• Recommend improvements to software architecture, development processes, tools, and team workflows
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to improve product and team effectiveness
• Work across the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through post-deployment support
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors to support successful solution delivery
• Maintain high-quality technical documentation and knowledge-sharing resources
