Mission Context

As part of strategic information system modernization projects, a large Belgian public sector organization is looking for a Senior Solution Architect / Tech Lead Java to join its transversal architecture team.

You will work at the intersection of architecture, software development, technical leadership, and business needs. Your role will be to define and evolve reference architectures, support development teams, and lead the modernization of backend solutions towards modern technologies, particularly the Spring ecosystem.

This mission is for a highly experienced profile, capable of taking a high-level view of architectural choices while maintaining an excellent understanding of concrete implementation, operational, and software quality challenges.

Your Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Ensure leadership of the transversal architecture team and support development teams in their skill development.
• Solution Architecture: Define, document, and evolve reference architectures, ensuring their consistency with business needs and operational constraints.
• Application Modernization: Design and support migrations of backend systems to a modern technology stack, particularly based on Java and Spring.
• Technical Steering: Monitor strategic projects, manage technological trade-offs, and ensure the complete lifecycle of the projects concerned.
• Reliability and Operations: Define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, as well as measurement, monitoring, and continuous improvement strategies.
• Quality and Industrialization: Promote CI/CD practices, TDD, test automation, and development standards.
• Technical Debt and Technological Evolution: Define information system evolution trajectories and prioritize the reduction of technical debt.
• Security and Governance: Integrate security requirements, information management, and regulatory constraints into architectural choices.
• Transversal Collaboration: Work with business, infrastructure, operations teams, and external partners.
• Consulting and Support: Contribute to needs analysis, technology solution evaluation, and internal training.
