Context

Our client is looking for a senior profile to drive the use of AI within its tech team and strengthen its backend expertise.

This role combines two responsibilities: managing concrete AI uses in production, with control over costs and performance, and acting as a Staff-level JavaScript backend expert, capable of challenging architectural choices and advancing the team.

Ideal Profile

• Design, deploy, and evolve solutions integrating RAG, AI workflows, and agentic pipelines.
• Cover the entire chain: identifying use cases, integrating with existing systems, production deployment, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage the costs and performance of workflows: token consumption, model selection, latency, reliability, and quality of results.
• Structure and maintain AI skills, tools, and practices shared by the team.
• Support developers in their skill development and foster concrete daily adoption.
• Prioritize initiatives based on their impact on the product, productivity, and company KPIs.
• Provide Staff-level expertise in JavaScript backend: architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Challenge technical directions with the Staff Backend team and contribute to structural decisions.
• Intervene directly on complex topics and advance design and development practices.
• Find the right balance between technical quality, speed of execution, and business challenges.
• In-depth and concrete production AI experience, covering RAG, workflows, agentic pipelines, and cost optimization.
• Experience implementing these uses within a company with a tech team of at least 20 people, with involvement across the entire chain.
• Experience beyond individual use of development assistants or mere automation of code reviews.
• Mastery of JavaScript backend at the Staff level, with solid experience in architecture, performance, and scaling challenges.
• Ability to transfer knowledge, drive adoption of new practices, and challenge experienced technical stakeholders.
• Approximately 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a scale-up, ideally in SaaS.
• A pragmatic approach, oriented towards product and business results.
• Ability to link technical decisions to measurable indicators.
• Strong curiosity for AI developments, combined with the necessary perspective to distinguish useful advancements from fads.
• A reference posture that remains involved in implementation and advances the collective.
