Digital Skills are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer for a contract opportunity working on a large-scale UK public sector digital programme.

This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional travel into London required.

Candidates must hold current SC Clearance.

The Role

You will join an established Agile delivery team, helping to develop and maintain automated testing solutions across complex digital applications and services.

The role will have a strong focus on Java, Selenium and AWS, covering both UI and API automation and integrating automated testing throughout the CI/CD lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Essential Experience

Experience with additional automation technologies such as Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Serenity BDD, Robot Framework or REST Assured would be beneficial.

• Developing and maintaining automated test solutions using Java and Selenium WebDriver
• Designing and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks
• Testing applications, services and integrations within AWS environments
• Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Delivering functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and API testing
• Applying TDD, BDD, ATDD and continuous testing practices
• Working closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Product Owners within Agile delivery teams
• Supporting the continuous improvement of automation frameworks, tooling and QA processes
• Strong commercial Test Automation experience
• Excellent hands-on Java experience
• Strong Selenium WebDriver experience
• Experience building and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks
• Commercial experience with AWS and testing cloud-based applications and services
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments
• Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD
• Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing
• Experience with Gherkin/Cucumber
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
