Jobbeschreibung
Seeking an experienced UX Researcher and Designer to lead and execute UX research projects for the 'Gegevensboekhouding' application, focusing on data policy and metadata management within the JenV ministry.
Project overview
Assignment Description
The CDO of JenV primarily focuses on shaping data policy for sharing, typing, quality, usage, and algorithms. This stems from the need to share data responsibly, efficiently, and transparently across the various departments of the ministry. For this, it is essential that there is a common language when discussing data. The CDO therefore has the ambition to make data sharing an organizational skill. JenV-wide standards for defining policy and metadata are laid down in the JenV Agreements Data & Algorithms (JAGA).
The 'Gegevensboekhouding' (Data Accounting) is an application that supports the execution of this policy and the systematic recording of metadata.
Background Assignment
Currently, the 'Gegevensboekhouding' is being further developed into a production-ready version (MVP). Software development takes place using design thinking aspects and principles. As a UX Researcher and Designer, you will play a crucial role in leading and executing end-to-end UX research projects, including defining research goals, selecting methods, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting it to stakeholders. Since 'Gegevensboekhouding' is a new concept in data management, it is important to have solid knowledge and experience with data management in the broadest sense.
In all cases, it is not possible to gather input through end-to-end UX research projects; in such cases, the right path must be devised using your own insights and presented to the various stakeholders. Together with the team, you will help integrate these results into the design and development process.
We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher and Designer who will help us identify opportunities for UX research based on objectives and user needs. You will develop personas, customer journey maps, and other tools to increase understanding of user needs and share them with stakeholders and within the team. You are aware of the latest developments in UX research and contribute to the continuous improvement of research processes and methodologies.
Additionally, you have experience with UX design and the ability to translate design concepts into concrete prototypes and test them with users. The candidate is capable of translating insights from user research, processes, and UX/UI design into concrete and implementable requirements for the development team. The candidate elaborates functionalities into user stories, scenarios, and acceptance criteria and has experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
In doing so, the candidate works closely with front-end and back-end developers to refine requirements and ensure a shared understanding of the desired functionalities.
Finally, you must be able to flexibly adapt to choices that will be made along the way based on acquired experience. Because we are building new software, we assume a lot of collaboration and therefore we primarily request physical presence at the location (Utrecht). You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as the Team Lead, Front-end and Back-end developers, and the product team to elevate the product to greater heights. In addition, you will think broadly with the team about the design of 'Gegevensboekhouding' that aligns with the JenV Agreements on Data and Algorithms.
Deployment: 24-36 hours per week
Requirements
The candidate possesses a WO (University) work and thinking level.
The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience in a combined UX/Product Design role within complex digital products.
The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience in UX research, interaction design, prototyping, and requirements refinement.
The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience with Figma, including component-based design, setting up and managing reusable components, and working with design systems and component libraries.
The candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable and proven experience translating user needs and UX/UI designs into concrete user stories, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
The candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable and proven experience with interaction design and information architecture for complex, data-intensive applications.
The candidate has demonstrable experience leading complex research projects and delivering valuable insights that have contributed to product improvement within the government.
Wishes
The candidate has knowledge of tools for conducting and analyzing research, such as survey platforms, usability software, and design prototyping tools.
The candidate has experience with user story mapping, backlog refinement in a multidisciplinary team, and breaking down complex user needs into incrementally achievable functionality.
The candidate has experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and describing desired system behavior in concrete scenarios, for example, according to Given/When/Then.
The candidate has experience with digital accessibility and the application of WCAG guidelines.
Other
Hybrid working is possible. Generally, there is a 50/50 policy, with deviations possible in consultation.
Additional Information
When you offer a professional to us as a supplier and they are placed, we will need information from you as a contracting party, including regarding the Chain Liability (Wet keten- en inlenersaansprakelijkheid - WKA). The 'WKA' aims to prevent abuse in the remittance of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to client. We cover these risks for our clients through a blocked account, the G-account. This is an account to which a portion of the invoice amount is deposited and from which you can pay payroll taxes and VAT to the Tax Authorities.
The percentage to be deposited depends on whether you have SNA certification (NEN-4400-1 or NEN-4400-2) and whether your company is located in the Netherlands or abroad. You can apply for the G-account from the Tax Authorities. If you cannot obtain a G-account (and you can provide proof of this from the Tax Authorities), you also have the option to provide an accountant's statement (assurance report regarding personnel lending) every quarter. In this, a certified accountant (AA or RA) will issue a statement about the correctness, completeness, and timeliness of the remittances.
Please note that the costs for this statement are at your own expense.
Project details
Because we are building new software, we assume a lot of collaboration and therefore we primarily request 3 days of physical presence at the location (Utrecht), with the candidate expected to use their own company resources such as a laptop, phone, transportation, etc.
