Service Transition Manager

Purpose

Own the controlled move of services into live operation, so that anything introduced or consolidated through integration is supportable, documented and accepted by the teams who will run it.

• Plan and run service transition, including readiness criteria, go-live gates and acceptance.
• Coordinate knowledge transfer from project and integration teams to operational support.
• Make sure service documentation, runbooks, support models and escalation paths exist before handover.
• Manage supplier and third-party handover where vendors are involved.
• Maintain the transition risk and issue log and report progress to stakeholders.
• Oversee early life support and a clean exit into business as usual.
• Keep the service catalogue and configuration records accurate, where these exist.
• Service transition or service introduction in a live IT environment.
• Working knowledge of ITIL service life cycle practices.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders across delivery, operations and suppliers.
• Comfortable setting and enforcing acceptance criteria.
• Transition experience in an acquisition, merger or consolidation setting.
