ServiceNow ITSM / CMDB Engineer

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITSM/CMDB Specialist to support the rollout of a new CMDB and improve integration and automation across the organization s security technology environment.

The CMDB has not yet been purchased, so this individual will play an important role in evaluating options, helping make design and implementation decisions, and ultimately deploying and integrating the solution. The environment includes approximately 3,000 databases/assets. This position will work to populate, import, organize, and manage those database/assets that are important to the security integration.

This resource will sit within the Security team, working closely with GRC, SecOps, ITSM, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support the selection, design, rollout, and implementation of the CMDB.

Help define the CMDB architecture, data model, asset relationships, and integration strategy.

Create workflows to import, populate, normalize, and manage up to 3,000 database/assets within the CMDB.

Develop and automate integrations between the CMDB, ServiceNow, and security platforms.

Integrate security tools including Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, and Optro/AuditBoard with ServiceNow.

Optimize the existing Optro/AuditBoard environment and improve integration with ServiceNow.

Configure workflows so security and GRC events can automatically generate ServiceNow tickets and route them to the appropriate support queue.

Build and maintain L2/L3 workflows, ticket routing, prioritization, and escalation processes.

Identify opportunities to automate manual ITSM, security, asset management, and GRC processes.

Troubleshoot and support integrations between ServiceNow and third-party platforms.

Ensure new integrations and CMDB changes are implemented without disrupting the existing Solution Center/service desk environment.

Partner with security, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to define requirements and establish implementation priorities.

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITSM.

Experience designing, implementing, or managing a CMDB.

Strong understanding of Configuration Items (CIs), asset relationships, data normalization, and CMDB governance.

Experience with ServiceNow integrations, APIs, workflow automation, and ticket routing.

Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise security or infrastructure platforms.

Ability to operate at both the solution/design level and hands-on implementation level.

Strong understanding of L2/L3 support processes, incident management, prioritization, and escalation.

Experience implementing new capabilities in a production environment where existing service operations cannot be disrupted.
