Software Developer – Embedded Systems (C/C++)

Project overview

We are now looking for a software developer within embedded systems for an exciting consulting assignment with our client in Huskvarna. The client operates within advanced technology for the defense and security industry and develops innovative training and simulation solutions.

In the role, you will work with the development of advanced technical systems in a cross-functional environment where software and hardware interact. We are looking for you who have a strong technical interest, enjoy problem-solving, and want to contribute to both product development and improved ways of working.

About the assignment

As a software developer, you will be part of a development team working with embedded systems. Your main focus will be on the development and implementation of functions in C and C++, as well as system engineering, troubleshooting, and verification of software.

You will work closely with hardware developers, testers, application engineers, and team leaders to ensure that the systems meet technical requirements and function as intended.

Responsibilities

Development and implementation of software functions in C/C++ for embedded systems.

System engineering, troubleshooting, testing, and verification of software.

Troubleshooting and testing at both hardware and software levels.

Performing measurements and basic troubleshooting at the circuit board level using measuring instruments.

Cross-functional collaboration with other technical disciplines.

Active participation in improvements of development processes, methods, and ways of working.

Requirements

To be considered for the assignment, we expect you to have:

A Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field, or an equivalent Bachelor of Science degree.

At least 1–3 years of relevant experience for level 2 or 3–7 years of relevant experience for level 3.

Experience in software development in C and/or C++ and an interest in continuing to develop in the field.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as documentation and customer contact occur in both languages.

Ability to troubleshoot and test systems at both hardware and software levels.

Experience in performing your own measurements and basic troubleshooting at the circuit board level with measuring instruments.

Ability to work on-site in Huskvarna.

Experience level: The assignment is open to consultants at level 2 and level 3.

Level 2: At least 1–3 years of relevant full-time experience, experience from several similar assignments, and the ability to independently perform defined tasks with work supervision.

Level 3: At least 3–7 years of relevant full-time experience, deep expertise in the field, and the ability to work independently, take responsibility for sub-areas, and lead small groups if necessary.

Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Experience with Git and DevOps.

Knowledge of radio communication.

Previous experience from the defense industry or similar technically advanced operations.
