Technical Manager (IPM)

Project overview

ON A PAYROLL BASIS For Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht (AGV), we are urgently looking for an experienced Technical Manager for various renovation projects in the rural area. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the technical direction of multiple renovation projects within Integral Project Management (IPM), including locks and polder pumping stations. You will work closely with technical specialists, advisors, and other members of the IPM team. You will be ultimately responsible for the technical quality, substantive advice, and direction of the technical team.

You will also collaborate with external contractors, such as engineering firms and construction companies, during the various project phases.

Work Environment

• Technically direct and coordinate multiple IPM renovation projects.
• Direct technical advisors and specialists.
• Be responsible for technical quality and substantive input within projects.
• Prepare and deliver project specifications.
• Have assumptions notes and system specifications prepared.
• Collaborate with engineering firms, contractors, and other contractors.
• Coordinate technical issues and interests between involved parties.
• Advise on and contribute to various tender types.
• Actively participate in the Technical Management expertise team and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvement.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant work experience as a Technical Manager, preferably within IPM projects.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience at a water board.
• Experience with technical direction of multidisciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of renovation projects within water infrastructure, preferably locks and pumping stations.
• Experience in directing technical advisors and specialists.
• Familiarity with various tender types and collaboration with external contractors.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to bring together different interests.
• Proactive, independent, and results-oriented work attitude.
• You will join Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht (AGV), which is responsible for water safety, clean water, and sufficient water in a diverse working area around Amsterdam, the Gooi, and the Vecht region.
• You will work within a committed, multidisciplinary team with an informal atmosphere, short lines of communication, and a strong focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing. The projects range from concrete technical renovations to complex, long-term infrastructure tasks.
