Project overview

Mission Context:

The client is looking for a senior techno-functional QA engineer for their Trading Systems team. This position will contribute to essential quality assurance activities, including standalone testing, backend and API testing, test automation, and continuous improvement of QA practices.

The senior techno-functional QA engineer will help define objectives, scope, acceptance criteria, and risk-based test coverage, while ensuring the validation of functional behavior through manual and automated testing. This role requires the ability to lead testing activities with minimal supervision and provide clear visibility into progress, risks, coverage, and test results.

The Trading Systems team operates in Porto and Paris and supports critical trading applications, the trading platform.

This position requires close collaboration with developers, functional analysts, team leads, project managers, and other QA contributors to ensure a high level of reliability, efficiency, and delivery quality.

One of the main expectations for this senior profile is to mentor junior team members, contribute to the improvement of QA processes, and leverage AI tools in daily activities to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency, while applying professional judgment and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability.

• Define test objectives, scope, and acceptance criteria
• Identify and prioritize test cases based on risks and business impact
• Drive testing activities with minimal supervision
• Contribute to defining effective QA approaches for complex backend systems and API testing contexts.
• Test execution, defect management, and reporting
• Execute manual and automated tests to validate functional behavior
• Reproduce, analyze, document, and track defects
• Ensure follow-up on fixes and verify resolutions

• Prepare production release validations and support quality decision-making

• Contribute to the creation of backend/API test resources, test data preparation, and database-related validation, where applicable.
• Leverage AI tools to facilitate test design, test case generation, defect analysis, documentation, reporting, automation development, and knowledge acquisition.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend and API testing
• Solid experience in backend/API testing
• Ability to lead testing activities with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge of BDD (Behavior-Driven Development), Xray/Jira, and test automation
• Knowledge of GUI testing tools
• Strong ability to reproduce, analyze, document, and track defects
• Ability to mentor junior team members and support process improvement
• Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken
• Strong Python skills
• Comfortable working in Linux environments
• Experience with Git
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines
• Experience in database management
