TOULOUSE - PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) (M/F)

Project overview

Within the production DBA team, you will administer and evolve PostgreSQL databases in critical, on-premise, and cloud environments. You will ensure their availability, performance, and capacity, while also ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance: applying patches, version upgrades, and evolution recommendations.

You will manage backups, restores, and business continuity plans, and contribute to high availability architectures, particularly through replication and automatic failover. You will analyze incidents and optimize databases — SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans — then provide level 2/3 support to internal teams and business projects.

You will automate recurring operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Shell scripts, participate in environment standardization, and contribute to Linux server administration. The position involves close collaboration with the systems, cloud, development, and operations teams.

Profile

At least 6 years of experience in database administration and advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, its operation, and incident diagnostics.

Expertise in high availability, replication, backup, and restore (Patroni, Repmgr, pgBackRest, PITR), as well as performance optimization and SQL plan analysis.

Proficiency in N2/N3 production support, security, and PostgreSQL version upgrades.

Experience with Linux, particularly Ubuntu or Debian, and Bash scripting.

Ability to formulate technical recommendations and support project teams.

Ansible and monitoring (Zabbix, Grafana, or equivalent) are appreciated; Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, cloud environments, and Oracle are assets.

2 to 3 days on-site per week.
