Contract: 4.5 months initially, with potential extension

We're looking for an experienced VB6 Developer to join a business-critical Legacy application project with a leading technology consultancy.

This is an opportunity for a developer with strong, hands-on Visual Basic 6 experience to work on complex Legacy systems, helping to maintain, troubleshoot and support applications through infrastructure and hosting changes.

We're particularly interested in speaking with developers who have worked extensively with VB6 applications and are comfortable getting to grips with existing codebases.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

• Supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting existing VB6 applications.
• Investigating and resolving issues across Legacy Windows environments.
• Supporting application hosting and infrastructure migrations.
• Working with SQL databases and application integrations.
• Setting up and maintaining Legacy development environments and build processes.
• Debugging and reverse-engineering existing applications.
• Taking ownership of established applications and resolving technical challenges.
• Strong commercial VB6/Visual Basic 6 development experience (essential).
• Experience maintaining or migrating complex Legacy applications.
• Good knowledge of Windows application environments.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working independently with existing Legacy codebases.
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 4 months + extensions
• Location: Leeds or London, UK, GB
• Rate: 63-63 EUR/h
