Virtualization Project Manager

Responsibilities

Required skills:

Desired aptitude: a technical project manager who has already led virtualization migrations in production (ideally VMware to Nutanix and/or Proxmox) in a critical context, comfortable with multi-team coordination and management reporting, rigorous and a driver of change management.

Work environment

Lead a transformation program for a production virtualization platform towards Nutanix and Proxmox, from a VMware environment. Île-de-France, occasional travel to technical sites or datacenters possible, start date to be defined. Critical context, high availability.

• Technically lead the project: detailed planning, migration waves, dependencies, prerequisites, risks.
• Contribute to defining the target state with architects, analyze the existing environment, build the migration strategy.
• Define cutover scenarios and rollback plans.
• Coordinate infrastructure, architecture, production, security, network, storage, and application teams, as well as publishers and integrators.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, backup, monitoring, and operability.
• Provide progress and risk reporting, including to management.
• Enterprise virtualization: VMware / Broadcom VMware and Nutanix AHV, plus an open-source solution like Proxmox.
• Mastery of VM migration tools and principles.
• Technical project management: planning (MS Project or equivalent), dashboards, risk and milestone management.
• Good understanding of systems, network, storage, and high-availability production constraints.
