We are looking for a freelance Construction Manager (m/f) for international projects for our client in the water management sector.

Responsibilities

You will take overall responsibility for construction supervision and coordinate all relevant activities on-site. You will be responsible for project management, contract administration, schedule and cost control, as well as quality assurance and claims management.

• You will advise the client on contractual matters, especially regarding deviations and change orders, and issue the necessary instructions.
• You will ensure continuous presence on the construction site and monitor all construction activities.
• You will monitor and review the contractor's surveying work.
• You will review, evaluate, and approve documents and technical documentation submitted by the contractor.
• You will control and test materials, equipment, and completed works.
• You will support the commissioning and handover of the completed plants and facilities.
• You will review payment applications and issue interim and final payment certificates.
• You will support the acceptance procedures and participate in the preparation of performance statements.
• You will oversee the contractor's activities throughout the entire defect liability period.
• You have a university degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• You have at least 15 years of international professional experience in water supply, wastewater disposal, and wastewater treatment projects.
• You have at least 10 years of experience in construction supervision for water and sanitary infrastructure projects.
• You have demonstrable leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams of international and local experts.
• You possess comprehensive experience in handling FIDIC-based contracts.
• Experience with arbitration proceedings is an advantage.
• You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
