Seeking an experienced iOS Developer with a focus on test automation to build automated test coverage for an existing iOS application using Swift. The role involves developing automated tests and improving the testability of existing software components.
Project overview
For our client, we are looking for an experienced iOS Developer (m/f/d) with a focus on test automation.
The goal of the project is the systematic development of automated test coverage for an extensive, existing iOS application based on Swift. In addition to developing automated tests, the focus is particularly on improving the testability of existing software components.

Responsibilities
Development and further development of automated unit tests for an existing iOS codebase
Development of tests for complex business logic, interfaces, API integrations, and hardware integrations
Test automation with XCTest and RxSwift (RxTest, RxBlocking, TestScheduler)
Refactoring of existing Swift components to improve testability
Testing of asynchronous and time-controlled processes
Use of Dependency Injection, Test Doubles, and Characterization Tests
Integration of automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
Analysis and optimization of code coverage
Establishment of test standards and knowledge transfer within the development team
Requirements
Several years of experience in native iOS development with Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
Sound experience in test automation with XCTest and unit tests
Very good knowledge of RxSwift and its testability (RxTest, RxBlocking, TestScheduler)
Experience with Dependency Injection, Test Doubles (Fakes, Stubs, Spies), and Mocking
Experience in testing asynchronous and time-controlled code (Timer, DispatchQueue, CADisplayLink)
Experience working with legacy code and refactoring to improve testability
Knowledge of code coverage (e.g., xccov, Xcode Test Plans)
Proficient in Git and Submodules
Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
Very good German or English language skills
