Backend Developer Java / Geodata (m/f/d) Remote

Project overview

For one of our major clients, we are currently looking for support that meets the following requirements:

For a demanding IT project in the mobility sector, we are looking for an experienced Backend Developer (m/f/d). The focus is on the development and further development of digital information systems as well as the processing and visualization of vectorized geodata. Implementation will take place in agile teams using modern technologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of backend applications with Java
• Integration, processing, and visualization of vectorized geodata
• Processing and integration of OpenStreetMap data
• Setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and development environments
• Execution of tests, debugging, and test automation
• Participation in code reviews and technical coordination meetings
• Creation of technical documentation and decision proposals

Requirements

• Several years of experience with vector-based geodata and in Java development
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience in test automation and test infrastructure
• Experience with OpenStreetMap data
• Experience with Spring Boot and GitLab CI/CD
• Sound knowledge of Git, Jira, and Confluence
• Experience with agile methods (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience in communication with stakeholders
• Knowledge of handling AI agents (e.g., Kiro) is an advantage
• Location: Remote 90%, Frankfurt am Main 10%
• Duration: 09.11.2026

• Utilization: Full utilization (approx. 700 PT)
• Staffing: Only possible with permanent employees
