Civil Engineer – Civil Engineering / Geotechnics / PV Ground Mount System | Leipzig Area

Project overview

For a large-scale photovoltaic project, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on civil engineering, geotechnics, or structural engineering for deployment in the Leipzig area.

The project includes the construction of a PV ground mount system with approx. 52 MWp (DC) / 42 MW (AC), spread across seven sub-systems, including grid connection via a 30 kV substation.

The system is being built on a former landfill site with special requirements for foundations, surface sealing, and the water management layer. The focus is on construction and civil engineering planning, the technical elaboration of the ground screw foundation, and the supervision of foundation and civil engineering work.

Project Data

• Start: Immediately or by agreement
• Duration: 6 months with option for extension
• Workload: Initially approx. 15-20 hours/week until construction begins, then sporadically approx. 10 hours/week
• Location: Primarily remote, with occasional on-site appointments in the Leipzig area and with authorities

Responsibilities

• Construction and civil engineering planning on a former landfill site, considering the special site requirements
• Planning of construction roads, access routes, and cable trenches within the water management layer
• Planning and technical elaboration of foundations for transformer and substation, as well as drainage and fencing
• Technical planning of the ground screw foundation, including evaluation of conducted probe screwings and pull-out tests
• Determination of embedment depths, sealing details at the ground surface, and required load distribution
• Coordination of structural integrity proofs and testing statics for the entire project, including substation foundations
• Technical coordination with landfill specialist planners, landfill operator, and responsible authorities regarding foundations, sealing, dismantling, and monitoring
• Ensuring landfill-specific requirements according to LAGA BQS 7-4a
• Creation of Method Statements for ground screw installation, cable laying, and driving on the landfill site
• Participation in the creation and coordination of the quality management plan
• Construction supervision of civil engineering and foundation work, as well as verification of associated installation protocols
• Ensuring the protection of the existing surface sealing and water management layer during planning and implementation

• Completed studies in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnics, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering
• Several years of practical experience in construction and civil engineering planning as well as foundation measures
• Experience with screw or driven piles for PV substructures
• Experience with landfill sites and surface sealing systems according to landfill regulations and LAGA BQS is of great advantage
• Sound knowledge in the coordination of structural integrity proofs and testing statics
• Knowledge of German building code and approval procedures
• Experience in technical coordination with planners, experts, and authorities
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
• Willingness for occasional on-site appointments in the Leipzig area
• Fluent German language skills
