Project:

Within the Strategy, Risk & Analytics department, a company-wide Software Asset Management (SAM) approach is being further developed and professionalized. The goal is to create a transparent, efficient, and sustainable SAM approach throughout the entire software lifecycle – from needs and procurement to usage and governance, up to the decommissioning of software assets.

The focus is on optimizing software and license management processes, improving cost and compliance transparency, and defining a future target state including governance, roles, responsibilities, and supporting tool landscape.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing Software Asset Management and license management processes and identification of optimization potential
• Conception and further development of an end-to-end SAM process model including roles, responsibilities, and control mechanisms
• Development of a target state for modern Software Asset Management in collaboration with IT, Purchasing, Finance, Security, and Compliance
• Definition and prioritization of functional requirements for a future SAM solution, including tool evaluation and selection support
• Analysis of data requirements, interfaces, and integration possibilities into existing IT system landscapes
• Creation of functional concepts, decision-making bases, business cases, and management-ready documentation
• Support in the implementation of initial process and governance measures

• Several years of expertise as a Business Engineer / Business Analyst with a focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) and license management at a Senior Expert Level
• Demonstrable experience in establishing, further developing, or transforming SAM processes, as well as contributing to larger SAM implementations
• Profound knowledge across the entire software lifecycle, including governance, compliance, cost optimization, and license management
• Experience in defining functional requirements and supporting SAM tool evaluations and selection processes
• Strong stakeholder management skills in collaboration with IT, Purchasing, Finance, Security, and Management
• Very strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as experience in agile working environments
• Experience with SAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow, or USU is an advantage, but not strictly required. The ability to define tool requirements and provide functional support during selection is crucial.
