Business Epic Owner (BEO) & Project Management

Project overview

For an ongoing transformation project within a corporate group, an experienced Business Epic Owner (BEO) with complementary project management expertise is sought. The focus is on functional responsibility for central Customer Master Data Management in the B2B environment, potentially also in the B2C area.

The role acts as a central control instance between the business department and IT, responsible for the structured definition, prioritization, and implementation of business requirements at the Epic level. In addition to content control, the position also includes coordination and planning tasks in the project context, especially within the scope of a platform migration. Sought for full-time utilization (100%) and part-time utilization (50%).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end functional responsibility as Business Epic Owner for central Customer Master Data Management B2B and B2C
• Creation, structuring, and management of Epics (e.g., in Jira)
• Translation of business requirements into actionable requirements for IT
• Close coordination with IT in the exploration and elaboration of solution designs
• Cross-functional stakeholder management between business and IT
• Steering and coordination within the scope of migration to a new B2B platform
• Project management tasks (planning, tracking, adaptation of project structures)

• Several years of experience as a Business Epic Owner strictly necessary
• Sound experience in the Customer Master Data / CRM environment (B2B)
• In-depth, long-standing, and demonstrable experience in the creation and management of Epics
• Very good understanding of the interface between business and IT
• Experience in transformation or migration projects
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent German language skills
• Start: 01.11.2026
• Duration: Until the end of 2026, with an option for extension (quarterly contract)

• Work Location: remote (on-site occasionally by arrangement if necessary)
