Project overview

For a modernization program, an external senior .NET specialist is needed for the independent conception, development, and technical coordination of defined backend deliverables. The scope of services includes translating business and architectural requirements into actionable technical concepts, epics, stories, and work packages, as well as their hands-on implementation within a cloud-native, microservice-based target architecture.

Skills

• Conception, design, and implementation of modular microservices, web APIs, and event-driven systems (C#, .NET, Kafka, SQL/Azure SQL); analysis of legacy systems and derivation of transformation and migration strategies; creation of architectural artifacts, documentation, and familiarization with new frameworks according to Clean Code principles.
• Development of cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes/AKS (including Helm, IaC concepts); setup, operation, and further development of automated CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and Git workflows (branching, merges, PRs).
• Ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability through automated tests (unit, component, integration, smoke tests) in close coordination with test automation teams; conducting code reviews, independent debugging/error analysis in distributed systems, monitoring via Grafana, and reflective use of modern AI development tools.
• Interface between architecture, product, development, and QA; detailing architectural specifications, clarifying technical dependencies and risks, and ensuring integration capability; knowledge transfer, pairing, moderation of design reviews and development coordination in an international environment.
• Translation of complex requirements into structured work packages, epics, stories, and tasks in Jira; definition of technical acceptance criteria, tracking of deliverables, roadmap refinement, and continuous documentation according to Scrum methodology.
• Multi-year, business-critical modernization and transformation program; highly automated, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud-native Azure/AKS target architecture with DevSecOps focus and multinational, distributed teams.
• Senior experience in the current .NET stack, microservices, web APIs, and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Sound practical experience with Microsoft Azure, containerized platforms (Kubernetes/AKS, Helm), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Git, and SQL/Azure SQL.
• Creation and evaluation of technical designs, detailing architectural specifications, requirements engineering, as well as routing, authentication, and platform concepts.
• In-depth debugging and error analysis (including in distributed systems), automated tests (unit, component, integration tests), code reviews, QA measures, and monitoring (Grafana).
• Jira/Scrum (epics, stories), Visual Studio, use of modern AI development tools, and interdisciplinary coordination in international teams in German and English.
