Project overview

For our customer, we are looking for an experienced Cisco UCS Administrator / Engineer (m/f/d) to support the operation and further development of an existing Cisco UCS infrastructure. The focus is on administration, carrying out firmware and security updates, and ensuring stable and performant system operation.

Language Requirements

• Administration, operation, and maintenance of the existing Cisco UCS infrastructure
• Carrying out BIOS/UEFI, firmware, and security updates as well as release rollouts
• Configuration and management of Cisco UCS systems via UCS Manager and UCS Central
• Installation, configuration, and administration of Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects
• Creation, customization, and assignment of service profiles
• Configuration of network and storage components (VLANs, vNICs, vHBAs, Fibre Channel)
• Checking server hardware as well as carrying out hardware diagnostics and function tests
• Carrying out system, performance, and driver rollout tests
• Analysis and resolution of faults during ongoing operation as well as during release changes
• Remote support for data center technicians and operations teams for hardware defects and system failures
• Documentation of measures taken as well as handover to operations
• Several years of practical experience in the administration and operation of Cisco UCS systems
• Sound knowledge of Cisco UCS Manager and UCS Central
• Experience with BIOS/UEFI configurations, firmware updates, security patches, and release management
• Good knowledge in the management of Cisco server and network components
• Experience in the configuration and administration of Fabric Interconnects and Service Profiles
• Knowledge in the area of network and storage connectivity (VLAN, vNIC, vHBA, Fibre Channel)
• Experience in fault analysis and troubleshooting of complex server infrastructures
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working Technologies Used:

• Cisco UCS Servers: UCS X210c M7, UCS C240 M5, UCS B480 M5

• German: Fluent
