Cloud & DevOps Engineer Azure / AWS Infrastructure

Project overview

Our client, an innovative medium-sized company, is in the midst of transforming its on-premise infrastructure into a modern hybrid cloud environment. To strengthen the engineering team, we are looking for a freelance Cloud & DevOps specialist to build the cloud architecture and automate internal deployments.

Responsibilities

• Setup, configuration, and securing of landing zones in the cloud (focus: Microsoft Azure or AWS)
• Migration of on-premise workloads and applications into the cloud infrastructure
• Automation of infrastructure setup using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – primarily with Terraform or Ansible
• Setup and optimization of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps) for automated deployment
• Implementation of cloud monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native tools)

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer in an enterprise or upper mid-market environment
• Demonstrable project experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS (corresponding certifications are a plus)
• Profound knowledge in the area of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform mandatory)
• Confident handling of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for process automation
• Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken.

Project details

• Start: Next month / by arrangement
• Duration: 6 months (option for extension available)
• Workload: Full-time (32–40 hrs./week, 90-100% remote possible)
• Budget: €85 – €105 / hr. All-In (Net).
