Insurance client seeks a developer with strong COBOL experience and knowledge of health insurance to develop applications and interfaces between Java and COBOL.
Project overview
Our client in the insurance sector is looking for a developer (gn) with sound COBOL experience and knowledge in the area of health insurance (KV) as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Development of applications and interfaces between Java and COBOL
- Familiarization with the existing COBOL application landscape and the underlying mainframe system
- Analysis and understanding of the business logic in private health insurance
- Analysis, debugging, and further development of existing applications
- Exchange with internal departments and technical contacts
- Use of modern development and collaboration tools such as Eclipse, Jira, and Confluence
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of COBOL
- Experience in the analysis and further development of complex applications
- Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing system landscapes and technically demanding processes
- Structured, analytical, and independent way of working
- Confident use of development and collaboration tools, especially Eclipse, Jira, and Confluence
- High willingness to learn and motivation to familiarize yourself with BS2000 mainframe technologies
