Controlling Consultant – Focus FI/CO

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Controller with in-depth expertise in cost accounting and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Background

A technically proficient Controller is sought for the consulting team on short notice, who understands business processes in accounting and controlling and can map them in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The focus is on the setup and design of controlling processes as well as the functional use of the ERP system. We are not looking for a pure developer or a project manager, but for a Controller or a functional key user who can independently analyze business requirements and translate them into suitable processes.

Business Central is a mandatory selection criterion.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing business processes in accounting and controlling.
• Functional conception, structuring, and setup of controlling processes.
• Mapping of business requirements in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Analysis and further development of cost accounting structures and calculation processes.
• Functional design of cost center and cost unit accounting as well as other relevant controlling methods.
• Identification of weaknesses in existing processes and development of suitable optimization measures.
• Transfer of functional requirements into practical processes within Business Central.
• Assumption of a functional key user role for controlling processes and their mapping in the ERP system.
• Functional coordination with the involved stakeholders for the implementation of the defined requirements.
• Verification of the functional suitability and practical applicability of the implemented controlling processes.

Requirements

• Several years of project experience in controlling and/or accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, activity-based costing, calculation, cost center/cost unit accounting, profit and loss accounting, and management reporting.
• Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision.
• Ability to independently analyze, functionally set up, and map controlling processes in the ERP system.
• Good understanding of business contexts and the connection between business processes and ERP systems.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working.
• Willingness for client assignments within NRW and, in rare exceptional cases, in Bremen.
• Experience in the analysis, optimization, and digitalization of business processes
