Data Engineer | Microsoft Azure, Fabric & PySpark | 100% Remote

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to further develop and modernize an existing data and analytics platform within the Microsoft ecosystem.

The goal of the project is to develop modern data solutions based on Microsoft Azure and Fabric, further develop existing data warehouse structures, and implement data migrations and scalable data processing.

Framework conditions:

• Development and implementation of data solutions in the Microsoft Azure and Fabric environment
• Modernization and further development of existing data platforms and data warehouse solutions
• Planning and execution of data migrations within Azure and data management environments
• Development, optimization, and maintenance of data processing pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Apache Spark
• Setup, configuration, and administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Development, management, and analysis of databases using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Development and adaptation of technical components based on Microsoft Fabric
• Integration of different systems and data sources, as well as implementation of suitable interfaces
• Analysis and resolution of technical errors from test and development phases
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and system descriptions
• Collaboration in an agile project environment for the continuous further development of the analytics and data platform
• Several years of practical experience with data migrations, especially in the Microsoft Azure and data management environment
• Profound knowledge in the setup, operation, and management of Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Confident handling of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• More than three years of practical experience with Apache Spark as well as Python and PySpark
• Demonstrable project experience with Microsoft Fabric
• At least three relevant project references in the respective core areas of data migration, SQL Server, Apache Spark/PySpark, and Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, ideally evidenced by successfully implemented projects
• Knowledge in modern data warehouse, analytics, and data transformation projects within the Microsoft ecosystem
