Data Architect

Project overview

For our client in the financial industry in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and open-minded Data Architect.

In this role, you will design and be responsible for the further development of the data architecture within the "IT Architecture and Security" team. You will also drive modern data platforms and ensure a consistent, future-proof data landscape as a basis for reporting, analytics, and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conception, modeling, and further development of the data architecture in the environment of core systems, data warehouse, and connected external systems
• Analysis of the existing data landscape and development of a target architecture including a roadmap for phased implementation
• Definition, maintenance, and further development of business and logical data models as well as ensuring a consistent data basis across all relevant systems
• Design and optimization of data flows, integrations, and interfaces (ETL/ELT, APIs, messaging, and batch integration)
• Close collaboration with business departments to gather requirements and derive solutions for data models, data quality, and reporting and analytics requirements
• Participation in the setup and further development of data governance, data quality, and metadata management structures
• Support with architectural topics in the area of application architecture and participation in strategic data and digitalization initiatives

• Several years of experience as a Data Architect or in a comparable role, ideally in the banking or financial environment
• Profound knowledge in data modeling (e.g., relational, dimensional, Data Vault) as well as in modern data warehouse and CRM architectures
• Experience with database technologies, integration concepts, and interface architectures
• Practical experience in the design and implementation of modern data platforms as well as interest in advanced analytics and AI use cases
• Good knowledge in the areas of data governance, data quality, data protection, and IT security, preferably in regulated environments
• Experience with architecture and modeling tools, for example Enterprise Architect, is an advantage
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented approach to work
• Fluent German and very good English skills
