DB2 Expert for Data Migration and Extraction

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced DB2 expert to support a time-limited migration project. The project starts immediately for an estimated 20 project days with an option for extension and can be carried out remotely as well as on-site.

Responsibilities

As part of a migration project for an insurance company, you will need to restore, analyze a large DB2 backup (approx. 6 TB), and perform structured data extraction. Specifically, you will support with:

• Restoration and analysis of an extensive DB2 backup
• Setup and operation of a Docker environment with IBM DB2 11.5.9.0
• Analysis and understanding of the database structure
• Identification and extraction of relevant documents (PDF, DOC, MSG, EML, etc.) including metadata
• Structured storage of documents outside the database for flat-file archiving
• Participation in mapping sessions with the system provider to clarify the database structure and relevant data areas

Requirements

You have sound knowledge of DB2 database administration and migration. Practical experience with Docker containers and data extraction processes is required. You should be able to analyze complex database structures and systematically extract and organize documents.

Timeframe:

The deployment days are flexibly distributed across October, November, and December (alternatively Q1 2027) and depend on the results of the mapping sessions.
