DevOps Engineer

Project overview

For our client, we are currently looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for the setup and further development of a cloud-based platform.

• Setup, configuration, and further development of an OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure
• Installation, integration, and operation of OpenStack components such as Nova, Neutron, Keystone, and Cinder
• Setup and administration of Kubernetes/OKD or OpenShift clusters
• Integration and configuration of central platform services such as Keycloak, OpenBao, Harbor, and GitLab
• Automation of infrastructure and platform deployment using Infrastructure as Code
• Development and maintenance of automation processes and CI/CD pipelines
• Administration and troubleshooting of Linux systems as well as analysis of complex technical faults
• Implementation and optimization of network, storage, and container infrastructures
• Development of scripts for automation and API integration with Python and Bash
• Implementation and further development of monitoring and observability solutions
• Analysis and resolution of technical problems as well as continuous optimization of the platform architecture
• Completed Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Fullstack Web Development, or a comparable degree with at least four years of professional experience
• Alternatively: Completed vocational training in IT specialization with at least four years of professional experience
• Several years of practical experience in the independent setup, integration, and operation of complex cloud and container platforms
• In-depth knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting
• Profound experience with OpenStack, especially Nova, Neutron, Keystone, and Cinder
• Very good knowledge of Kubernetes, OKD, or OpenShift, including cluster architecture, operators, networking, storage, and lifecycle management
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and CRI-O
• Good knowledge of network technologies and architectures such as TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, SDN, OVN, and CNI
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible
• Knowledge of Helm and Kubernetes Operators
• Profound experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Programming and scripting skills in Python and/or Bash
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Knowledge of Git as well as modern interfaces and architectures such as REST and GraphQL
• Basic to good knowledge of Node.js, Java, or Python as well as modern web technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Experience with the setup and automation of CI/CD pipelines

Utilization: Full-time

Goal:

Setup, integration, and further development of a proprietary cloud platform based on OpenStack and OKD. The platform integrates various central services such as Keycloak, OpenBao, Harbor, and GitLab.

The focus is on independent technical implementation, configuration, integration, and automation of the platform components. This requires a deep understanding of the underlying architectures and the ability to analyze complex technical contexts and independently develop solutions.
