Job description
Build, develop, and operate Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS) to provide a reliable self-service platform for development teams. Take end-to-end responsibility for the platform, including infrastructure, observability, and security.

- Duration: From now until 31.12.2026, extension desired (at least 2 years)
- Location: Cologne and remote (up to 90% remote possible)
Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and operate Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS)
- Provide a reliable platform that development teams can use in self-service
- Take end-to-end responsibility for the platform: infrastructure, observability, and security
- Automate infrastructure and deployments
- Build and expand observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, CloudWatch)
- Work closely with the Developer Experience team to improve the developer journey and create Golden Paths
- Continuously improve the platform in terms of performance, security, scalability, and developer experience
- Document your own work transparently and comprehensibly
- Participate in on-call duty, including outside regular working hours
Requirements
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, including operating production clusters
- Solid AWS knowledge beyond EC2: VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, Lambda
- Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, and CloudWatch
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code
- Good understanding of self-service, developer experience, and internal quality
- Enjoy automating processes and operating systems stably
- Team player and willingness to share knowledge
- Willingness for on-call duty
