Contract Manager Contract & Claims – SuedOstLink | 70% Remote

Project overview

A transmission system operator in the energy industry, based in Berlin, is expanding its high-voltage grid for the energy transition. For the 525 kV grid connection project SuedOstLink, we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager (m/f/d) with a focus on Contract & Claim Management.

As a central interface between procurement and project management, you will ensure that contractual opportunities are leveraged and risks are actively managed. You will support the operational management and implementation of complex contract frameworks throughout their entire lifecycle – from design to successful contract fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Management of commercial contracts, i.e., construction, supply, and service contracts, cooperation agreements
• Systematic recording of concluded contracts, including follow-up and ensuring contractual obligations
• Provision of (commercial-contractual) contract information and preparation for the respective program management and internal stakeholders
• Consulting for project management, procurement, and contract management
• Review, evaluation, and follow-up of contract-relevant issues in cooperation with construction management
• Advice on the interpretation, application, and enforcement of contractual regulations towards contractors, subcontractors, planners, and service providers
• Identification of opportunities and risks arising from contract deviations, change orders, hindrances, schedule delays, and cost increases
• Early identification, structuring, and commercial evaluation of supplementary claims, counterclaims, notices of hindrance, notices of additional costs, and deviations in performance
• Review of contractor claims as well as preparation, negotiation, and assertion of own claims in an advisory capacity with the relevant project functions

• Completed (business) law or commercial studies (or equivalent)
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience and solid knowledge in Contract & Claim Management / Contract Execution / Commercial Project Management, ideally in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sector
• Proficient in standard PC software, especially MS Office
• Very good German and English language skills (C1 level each) in speaking and writing
• Proof of experience through personal project references (contract subject, period, client, activity, brief description)
• Experience in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sector
• Hands-on mentality and pragmatism
• Contract type: Freelance (Service contract)
• Period: 15.11.2026 – 30.04.2028 (approx. 240 working days), extension possible

• Work model: approx. 70% remote, 20% on-site in Berlin, 10% business trips to construction offices in Magdeburg, Leipzig, and Gera
