Specialist Commercial Insurance - Underwriting & Product

For a short-term project in the Swiss insurance environment, we are looking for an experienced professional with in-depth expertise in the SME business and in Commercial Property & Casualty.

As part of the mandate, you will support the technical further development of central underwriting and steering elements. The focus is on revising the Risk Appetite Framework, the product offering, and existing agreements and underwriting principles.

• Technical review and further development of the Risk Appetite Framework in the Swiss SME business
• Analysis and optimization of Underwriting Guidelines and steering instruments
• Assessment of coverage concepts, limits, and deductibles by industry and risk
• Contribution of in-depth market knowledge to the further development of the Commercial P&C product offering
• Support in the analysis and further development of facility and framework agreements
• Evaluation of existing underwriting processes and technical workflows
• Development of structured recommendations and decision-making bases
• Collaboration with Underwriting, Business Development, Sales, and other specialist departments
• Documentation of processes, guidelines, and, if applicable, work instructions
• Several years of professional experience in the Swiss SME insurance business
• In-depth practical experience in underwriting or technical underwriting
• Very good knowledge of Commercial Property and/or Casualty
• Experience with Underwriting Guidelines, Risk Appetite, limits, deductibles, or comparable steering instruments
• Very good understanding of risk assessment and underwriting processes in the SME environment
• Good knowledge of the Swiss insurance market
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing structures
• Independent, structured, and analytical way of working
• German and/or French at a professional level
• Experience in several Commercial P&C lines, especially property, liability, or technical insurance
• Experience with product development or portfolio management
• Knowledge of facility agreements or framework agreements
• Experience in the broker business
• Analysis and optimization of underwriting processes
• Creation of guidelines, process documentation, or work instructions
• English language skills
• Technically demanding expert mandate in the Swiss Commercial P&C environment
• Direct influence on underwriting and product steering
• Collaboration with various business and underwriting stakeholders
• Short-term project assignment with a high degree of technical responsibility
