Freelance Embedded Software Developer – Apple CarPlay / Android Auto

For a development project in the automotive/motorcycle environment, we are looking for an experienced freelance software developer for the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into display and infotainment control units.

Responsibilities

Software implementation and integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Conception of system architecture, interfaces, and operating concepts, including the connection of handlebar controls

Independent development of software prototypes and proofs of concept

Support in planning work packages, milestones, and releases

Technical coordination of external development partners and evaluation of their implementation results

Analysis and resolution of errors in the areas of connectivity, audio/video streaming, and system performance

Accompanying testing, validation, certification, and release processes, for example Apple CarPlay / MFi and Android Auto

Close collaboration with E/E architecture, connectivity, HMI, and adjacent development teams

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Sciences, or a comparable technical qualification

Sound experience in software development, ideally in the embedded environment of the automotive or motorcycle industry

Demonstrable project experience with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or comparable projected mode technologies, ideally in series development

Very good knowledge of relevant technologies such as C/C++, Linux, QNX, or Android

Experience with Bluetooth, WLAN, USB, iAP2, and audio/video streaming

Experience in the technical management of suppliers and external development teams

Knowledge of automotive development processes, especially V-model, Automotive SPICE, as well as requirements, change, and release management

Analytical, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working, as well as confident communication with technical stakeholders

Fluent German and English language skills
