Freelance Project – Cyber Security / SecOps Engineer (Sophos) – Remote – Start 01.11.2026

Project overview

Dear Freelancers,

For one of our clients, we are currently looking for an experienced Cyber Security / SecOps Engineer with a focus on Sophos. We are seeking operational support for ongoing security operations as well as the further development of the existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Operational management and support of the existing cyber security infrastructure
• Administration and configuration of Sophos Endpoint Security and Sophos Firewalls
• Monitoring and processing of security alerts and incidents
• Analysis of log files and identification of security-relevant anomalies
• Configuration and further development of firewall rules and security policies
• Setup and further development of Zero Trust structures with Sophos ZTNA
• Technical support for users with security, endpoint, and access problems
• Troubleshooting and sustainable resolution of security and network problems

• Very good practical experience in Cyber Security / Security Operations
• Sound knowledge of Sophos Endpoint and Sophos Firewall
• Experience with Sophos ZTNA and Zero Trust concepts
• Experience in alert and incident handling
• Very good knowledge in the analysis of logs and security events
• Good knowledge of firewalling, networks, and endpoint security
• Hands-on mentality and experience in operational security environments
• Independent and structured way of working
