We are looking for a Freelance Journalist/Audio Author

ORFIELD is a new journalistic product for everyone who wants to stay informed without feeling overwhelmed by the daily flood of news. Instead of countless headlines, we offer two long deep dives daily for listening and reading, which explain complex societal topics understandably, show different perspectives, and provide orientation. Our goal: to make people want journalism again that goes beyond mere news delivery. With depth, constructive solutions, and clear added value for their own everyday lives. ORFIELD is currently under development.

Together, we are developing a new media offering that excites people about societal topics and makes journalism an experience again.

• In-depth research: You will thoroughly research societal, political, and economic topics and question common narrative patterns.
• Background information: You will explain causes and connections, highlight different perspectives, and present possible solutions.
• Audio storytelling: You will develop vivid audio stories from complex research with a listening duration of about 10 to 20 minutes.
• Clarity: You will convey demanding content clearly, approachably, and at eye level, without unnecessary jargon or artificial dramatization.
• Transparency: You will make your research methods traceable, separate facts from opinions, and engage with questions and feedback from our community.
• Journalistic experience: You master in-depth research, source criticism, and fact-checking, and can fairly represent different positions.
• Storytelling: With your precise, lively writing style, you make complex topics understandable and develop exciting narrative structures.
• Curiosity: You truly want to understand societal connections, question your own assumptions, and are open to new perspectives.
• Self-responsibility: Independent and reliable work is a matter of course for you, as is close collaboration with an editorial team.
• Innovation: You are eager to rethink journalism and develop new digital storytelling formats with us.
• Your plus: Initial experience with podcasts, radio features, or audio documentaries is welcome, but not a requirement.
