Project overview

Independent development and design of power supply solutions for automotive control units.

Carrying out initial commissioning as well as validation and testing of the developed power supply circuits.

Selection and dimensioning of suitable power supply ICs, especially switching regulators, step-down/buck converters, step-up/boost converters, and LDOs.

Interpretation of technical data sheets and transfer of specified requirements to circuit design.

Design of the required IC periphery, for example coils, capacitors, MOSFETs, and diodes.

Assessment of whether the selected external components technically match the power supply IC and the respective automotive application.

Carrying out electrical measurements and error analyses with multimeter and oscilloscope.

Technical coordination with the involved hardware, development, and test teams.

Requirements

Several years of practical experience in the design and development of power supply circuits.

Sound knowledge in the development of switching power supplies and switching regulators.

Very good knowledge of handling step-down/buck and step-up/boost topologies as well as LDOs.

Experience in the selection and application of power supply ICs, especially converters and/or controllers.

Very good knowledge in the interpretation of IC data sheets as well as in the design of associated periphery.

Experience in the dimensioning and selection of coils, capacitors, MOSFETs, and diodes.

Practical experience with the commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits.

Confident handling of multimeter and oscilloscope.
