Host Developer

Responsibilities

Profile

• Analysis of existing host applications, data structures, and interfaces in the partner environment
• Development and adaptation of COBOL programs for processing and migration of partner data
• Creation and optimization of SQL queries and DB2 database objects
• Analysis of technical requirements and coordination with business departments, architecture, and development teams
• Consulting on the conception and implementation of migration and integration solutions
• Error analysis and troubleshooting in near-production and production environments
• Consulting on unit, integration, and migration tests
• Creation of technical documentation and support of knowledge transfer within the project
• Consulting on performance analyses and optimization of batch and online processes
• Sound experience as a host/mainframe developer with COBOL and DB2 in complex system landscapes (highest priority)
• Very good knowledge of SQL, DB2 databases, and data modeling (highest priority)
• Experience in the analysis, adaptation, and further development of existing legacy applications (highest priority)
• Experience in the area of data migrations and system integrations
• Knowledge of batch and online procedures in the mainframe environment
• Experience in collaborating with business departments, business analysts, and development teams
• Structured, independent way of working and strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of PL/I advantageous
• Experience in the insurance industry, especially in the partner or policy management context, advantageous
• Fluent German, English skills advantageous
