IBM AS/400 Developer – ERP & Interface Development

For a client, we are seeking an experienced freelance IBM AS/400 developer with in-depth knowledge of ERP development and system integration.

As part of an ongoing ERP project, a new merchandise management system has already been introduced. Additional external support is now needed for further development, optimization, and integration into the existing IT system landscape.

Responsibilities

Further development, customization, and optimization of the existing ERP system (OGSiD)

Development and maintenance of applications based on IBM AS/400 (IBM i / iSeries)

Conception, development, and implementation of interfaces to existing systems

Integration of the ERP system into the existing IT infrastructure

Analysis and optimization of existing database structures and SQL queries

Support in connecting further systems such as webshops, document management systems, and Euvino Pro

Analysis of technical requirements and independent implementation of corresponding solutions

Technical support for the further development and stabilization of the ERP landscape

Requirements

In-depth experience in development with IBM AS/400 / iSeries / IBM i / OS/400

Very good knowledge of DB2 / DB2 for i and SQL

Experience in the development, customization, and extension of existing ERP systems

In-depth knowledge of interface development and system integration

Experience with RPG, RPG IV, or ILE RPG is a great advantage

Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working

Very good German language skills

Nice to have

Experience with the ERP system OGSiD

Knowledge in connecting webshops and document management systems (DMS)

Experience with Euvino Pro

Knowledge of REST and SOAP interfaces

Experience with Java, C#/.NET, or Microsoft SQL Server

Industry knowledge in merchandise management, trade, purchasing, sales, or logistics

Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler area

Immediately, ideally early November

Initially 3–6 months, with an option for long-term collaboration

Preferably 40 hours per week, alternatively 20–24 hours by arrangement

Remote policy: On-site presence especially during onboarding is desired, afterwards partial remote work is possible

Contract type: Freelance project basis

Interviews: Possible at short notice

Project Goal

The goal of the project is to technically further develop the already implemented ERP solution, optimize existing processes, and ensure reliable integration into the existing system landscape. We are looking for an experienced developer who possesses both in-depth knowledge in the IBM AS/400 environment and a good understanding of business processes, and who will independently handle operational development tasks.
