Project overview

For a long-term project environment in the field of critical infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced commissioning engineer or technician for computer and system technology.

The focus of the activity is the installation, configuration, commissioning, and support of computers and technical systems on-site at the customer's premises. Practically oriented technicians with an electrical engineering background and a distinct hands-on mentality are sought. Academic degrees are not required. Practical experience, technical understanding, and the willingness to work on projects nationwide are decisive.

Framework Conditions

• Start: immediately, at the latest mid-November 2026
• Duration: long-term project support
• Utilization: Full-time
• Location: Braunschweig as well as nationwide project assignments
• Travel: high willingness to travel required
• Contract Type: Freelance

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of computers and technical systems
• Assembly, setup, and cabling of hardware components
• Installation and configuration of operating systems and computer workstations
• Execution of system and function tests
• Fault analysis and troubleshooting of technical malfunctions
• Replacement and integration of hardware components
• Documentation of installations, test results, and technical changes
• Ensuring the operational readiness of technical systems
• Collaboration with project teams and on-site technical contacts

Requirements

Note

Experience in the railway sector or in control technology is not required. We are primarily looking for technically adept practical professionals who can install, configure, and commission computers and technical systems.

• Completed technical training, e.g., as an IT system electrician, electrician, industrial electrician, mechatronics technician, IT specialist system integration, technician, or comparable qualification
• Electrical engineering background required
• Experience in the installation, assembly, or commissioning of technical systems, computers, or hardware
• Good knowledge of PC hardware and its installation and configuration
• Practical and independent working style
• Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of activities directly at the system or on-site at the customer's premises
• Professional experience in a technical environment is an advantage
• High willingness to travel for nationwide project assignments
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
