Interim SAP ILM / Data Archiving Consultant (m/f/d) - 12+ Months - Remote - ASAP

Project overview

For one of our clients, we are seeking support as part of a long-term IT transformation for the targeted preparation of the SAP system landscape for future migration to SAP S/4HANA. A central success factor here is the optimization of data management, the implementation of modern Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) strategies, and systematic data archiving across all functional modules.

Responsibilities

• Conception & Strategy: Analysis of the existing SAP data landscape and development of modular archiving and ILM concepts to prepare for the S/4HANA transformation.
• Cross-Module Implementation: Execution of data archiving projects across all relevant SAP modules (including FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR/HCM).
• ILM Implementation: Definition of retention rules, rule sets (IRMPOL), and policies to comply with legal and data protection regulations (GDPR).
• System Cleanup & Performance: Reduction of database volume, decommissioning of obsolete data structures, and optimization of system performance.
• Interfaces & Stakeholder Management: Close exchange with the business departments, IT architecture, and project managers at the client's site to coordinate archiving runs and preliminary checks.

• Experience: Profound and demonstrable professional experience as a consultant in the SAP ILM and SAP Data Archiving environment.
• S/4HANA Focus: Experience in preparing SAP ERP systems for migration to SAP S/4HANA (housekeeping, data cleanup).
• Module Competence: Broad understanding of data structures and archiving objects in the common SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD etc.)
• Location: Remote
