INTERIM Senior EMC Engineer Defence

Project overview

To support the electronics development department, we are looking for an experienced freelance Senior EMC Engineer with a focus on Defence, starting as soon as possible.

The role focuses on the definition, implementation, and verification of EMC requirements in development projects, as well as conducting and supporting EMC measurements and qualifications on electronic systems.

Profile

• Taking EMC responsibility within development projects
• Definition and coordination of EMC requirements with internal departments and customers
• Development of EMC-compliant system concepts and derivation of corresponding design requirements for subsystems and components
• Creation of EMC program plans, test plans, and qualification documents
• Execution and evaluation of EMC measurements in a laboratory environment
• Planning, organization, and support of EMC tests in internal and external test laboratories
• Conducting design reviews and supporting verification and qualification activities
• Creation of measurement reports, qualification certificates, and EMC and lightning protection analyses
• Conducting site surveys and measurements at the customer's site
• Presentation and coordination of test results with customers and project teams
• Advising development and hardware teams on EMC-compliant system and device designs

Requirements

• Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a comparable field
• Several years of experience as an EMC Engineer in the Defence, Aerospace, or safety-critical environment
• Extensive experience in EMC-compliant system and device design
• Profound knowledge of electromagnetic fields and EMC technical contexts
• Experience in planning, conducting, and evaluating EMC measurements and qualification tests
• Very good knowledge of military EMC norms and standards, especially VG standards, MIL-STD-461, and ideally AECTP-500
• Demonstrable project experience in the military or aviation technology environment
• Confident demeanor and strong communication and presentation skills
• High flexibility and willingness for regular on-site assignments
• Fluent German and English language skills
